Tips & Guidance · For Happy Dogs
A happy dog starts with good daily habits — and a treat they can actually trust. Here's what we believe in.
Good Habits
Keep cool, clean water available all day — especially in South Africa's warm weather. Freeze-dried treats are low in moisture, so water access is especially important.
Treats should make up no more than 8% of your dog's daily calorie intake. Even with the healthiest treats, moderation keeps weight and digestion in check.
Use small, high-value treats (like ours) to reinforce good behaviour. Short sessions of 5–10 minutes work best — dogs learn fastest when they're engaged, not bored.
The first ingredient listed is the most prominent. If it's a filler or "meat by-product", put it back. Real meat or vegetables should lead the list.
Daily physical and mental stimulation helps dogs stay fit, calm, and mentally sharp. A well-exercised dog is a happy dog — and a better treat receiver.
Regular vet visits catch issues early. Always consult your vet before making significant changes to your dog's diet, especially for puppies, seniors, or dogs with conditions.
We believe informed pet parents make better choices — and we're proud to share everything that goes into every Shnoble's Nibbles treat.
